The Customer

Order My Gear (OMG) is a high-growth software company that provides e-commerce, order management, payment, and supply chain software to the team sporting goods and group apparel markets.

The Project

An Enterprise eCommerce Storefront Build Out

Overview

The OMG platform powers online stores for over 3,500 clients generating more than $1.5 billion in online sales. They engaged Improving to build their new storefront platform.

The Challenge

OMG received $35 million in private equity funding to drive innovation and propel OMG to break into new markets and remain competitive in a rapidly evolving industry. They needed to quickly ramp up a qualified team to build out a new storefront from scratch to achieve their go-to-market goals under a tight timeline and budget.

The Solution

OMG initially brought in three Improving Nearshore consultants to work on the new storefront platform using PHP and Golang. Early on and based on our recommendations, Improving added an account owner and an account delivery manager to the team. We suggested a full-stack solution to build a better platform to accommodate future growth. Improving consultants, using Agile methodologies, steered the client toward a JavaScript and React solution and moved them from functional to automated QA. As the project reached critical milestones, OMG relied on Improving as trusted IT partners to guide decisions in their digital transformation.

The new storefront platform improves OMG’s outlook to expand into new markets while providing existing customers with an enhanced storefront branding experience, expanded products, and higher revenue potential.

Why Improving?

Improving Nearshore consultants ramped up quickly, understood the company’s business goals, and became trusted partners. Our leadership capabilities drove team performance and influenced development investments that positioned OMG for future success.
