Real-Time Data Done Right

The need for high quality data has never been greater, yet in many organizations the data landscape is a patchwork of different data silos, sticky point-to-point integrations with legacy systems, and painfully slow batch processes. This limits the ability to change and update systems, restricts the ability to derive new value from data integrations, and forces blind trust in an opaque web of connections that no one can fully understand. Event-driven architectures using modern data platforms like Confluent and Apache Kafka are the solution to these problems but can be subject to similar pitfalls if they are not created with care. In this talk we will walk through some of the common gotchas in event architectures, define key principles to building a successful data streaming platform, and provide real-world examples real-time data systems being used to solve complex business problems.
