Centers of Excellence in the US, Canada, and Mexico and a dedicated acceleration practice extend Improving’s AI momentum into its next phase of delivery.

Improving has created a central AI leadership team that will grow the company’s capacity for complex AI programs, bring consistent standards to AI delivery in every country, and help clients move faster with AI. Five technology leaders have stepped into expanded roles, effective October 1, to guide this work across two areas: Innovation and Acceleration. The team builds on Improving’s continued investment in AI and gives that growth a dedicated leadership structure. All five will stay active in their local technology and business communities.

"These improvers have helped to establish Improving as a market leader in Enterprise AI, and with the formation of this leadership team we are well positioned for the direction the industry is taking into the future" said Devlin Liles, Chief AI Officer at Improving.

Innovation: Centers of Excellence by country

Three leaders are building Innovation Centers of Excellence in their home countries. They are working with Improving’s country leadership to expand the company’s capacity for complex AI programs. They are also defining role standards and profiles for AI/ML team leads and solutions architects, so the same title carries the same meaning in every country. That consistency matters most on the most demanding AI-centric engagements, where teams build new ways for software to make an impact.

The Innovation leaders are:

  • Michael Slater, VP of Technology, Head of AI US

  • Michael Ell, VP of Technology, Head of AI Canada

  • Luis Gerardo, VP of Technology, Head of AI Mexico

Acceleration: Moving Improving and its clients faster

Two leaders are focused on accelerating both Improving’s own business and the businesses of its clients.

Tim Rayburn, VP of Technology, Head of AI Transformation, has led programs that trained more than 10,000 internal and external professionals on effective AI usage, and those programs have produced measurable results. He continues to lead Improving’s internal and external AI transformation offerings, expanding the learning programs and advancing Improving’s own AI maturity along with that of its clients.

Bill Curry, VP of Technology, Head of Microsoft AI, is expanding his focus to lead forward-deployed engineering. The next frontier in AI is deep integration with business operations, and Improving is growing its forward-deployed engineering teams to work directly with business groups outside of IT, such as operations and finance. The work starts on the Microsoft stack and builds on the Microsoft and AI leadership Bill already provides.

What comes next

All five leaders bring sales support and sales engineering strengths. Each will set aside dedicated time for innovation, training, and building their Centers of Excellence. Improving will share more about their work over the next several quarters.

"Improving has pour in tremendous resources and effort into growing the next generation of technical skills and careers, and we are already seeing the industry follow that lead. The investments will continue to maintain our pole position in this disruptive wave as we help both our employees and clients navigate the next several years" said Devlin Liles, Chief AI Officer.
